Geeta Mani, a spirited yet moody 72-year-old widow, lives independently in her village home after losing her husband. Though once determined not to interfere in her children’s lives, loneliness drives her to make an unannounced visit to her family’s crowded city home, Ananda Nilayam. Her sudden arrival surprises everyone and stirs suspicion about her intentions.
She soon realizes she is not entirely welcome, but also discovers that her children’s household is full of tension, conflicts, and fragile relationships. Though reluctant at first, Geeta recognizes that only she has the authority and strength to bring some order back, as her late husband would have wished.
What begins as a month-long attempt becomes a longer, unpredictable battle. With wit, stubbornness, and unexpected warmth, Geeta navigates the chaos, clashing personalities, and hidden fractures within her family. Along the way, she forges new bonds, faces moments of rejection and love, and learns that even her independence must bend when it comes to keeping a family together.
At its heart, the story is about a flawed but remarkable grandmother who, with humor, grit, and vulnerability, tries to reunite her fractured family while also rediscovering the value of togetherness herself.
